One of the Vol’s top 2014 wide receiver targets, Josh Malone, was offered by the Georgia Bulldogs today.
Malone, a native of Gallatin, TN (Station Camp), is rated as a four-star receiver by 247Sports. He’s the third ranked player in the state of Tennessee and the 11th ranked receiver nationally.
Including Georgia, Malone now has 38 offers. Some of his more notable offers, in addition to Tennessee and Georgia, are Auburn, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Virginia Tech.
Malone is a 6’2″/190 lb receiver that runs a 4.43 in the 40 yard dash. He’s an impressive receiver that has compiled 18 touchdowns over his last two season. He’s being recruited to Tennessee by linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen.
JC Shurburtt, the director of recruiting for 247Sports and Barton Simmons, a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports have both predicted that the Vols will land a commitment from Malone.
