The Tennessee Volunteers will face some stiff competition early in the year when they take part in the “Battle for Atlantis”, a tournament that is played in Nassau.
In addition to the Vols the eight team field includes: Iowa, Kansas, USC, UTEP, Villanova, Wake and Xavier. Obviously there’s some stiff competition there for the Vols.
The pairings for the tournament have not yet been announced. The bracket last year was announced on August 2, so I’d expect a similar date for the announcement this year.
The games will be played at Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. This is the third year of the “Battle For Atlantis”.
The tournament is a very unique one, when watching on the television you almost feel like the game is taking place on a ship. Specifically because of the low ceilings and unique lighting that is used.
All of the action will be broadcast on AXS TV and NBC Sports Network from November 28-30, 2013.
