Regardless of what you may believe, there is no off-season in college football.
That much was proved on Friday when the Vols added a surprise commit to their 2013 class.
Kendal Vickers, previously a South Carolina commit, has decided he wants to be a Volunteer.
Vickers is a consensus three-star recruit from Havelock, NC (Havelock). He’s a weakside defensive end that stands 6’3″ and according to 247Sports weighs 225 lbs. That number is likely a little higher now.
There were some concerns about Vickers qualifying, but apparently those concerns have been alleviated.
Vickers had previously been offfered by East Carolina, North Carolina and South Carolina.
The North Carolina native will add some much needed depth to the Volunteer’s defensive line in 2013. Vickers will need to add some weight to his frame, but an extra defensive lineman never hurts.
