The NFL Network’s annual ranking of the top 100 players in the league has become somewhat of an off-season tradition in the past couple of years.
The list is unveiled ten players at a time, each week.
This week the first former Tennessee Volunteer was featured on the list.
Dallas Cowboys tight end, Jason Witten, came in at 41st overall on the list. He’s the sixth tight end to make the list.
Witten moves up 34 spots from last season, when he was ranked 75th.
In 2011 Witten was ranked 36th.
Last season saw Witten have one of the best years of his career, including a game where he set the record for catches in a game by a tight end (18).
Witten has already been hearing the retirement rumors, but he doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
Recently Witten gave his vote of confidence for Butch Jones, the Vols new head coach.
