Lady Vols Advance Past Gators Easily

The Lady Vols jumped out in front early on Thursday against the Florida Gators, and they never looked back.

Tennessee took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, before eventually taking down Florida 9-2 to advance in the Women’s College World Series.

The Gators got within a run after scoring two in the bottom of the fifth, but Tennessee added six insurance runs in the 6th and 7th innings.

Ellen Renfroe picked up her 18th win of the year in the victory (18-4). Hannah Rogers took the loss for the Gators (33-6).

The Lady Vols will now take on Washington on Friday at 7:00 pm est on ESPN. Washington defeated Nebraska 4-3 on Thursday.
