One of the Vols top 2014 targets, Dillon Bates, is one step closer to committing to his school of choice.
Earlier this week he tweeted that he’d be announcing his decision on July 2 or July 3 at The Opening.
The Opening is described as ” four days of dynamic competition for the nation’s most elite high school football prospects”.
Bates is another Vol legacy (His dad, Bill Bates, played for the Vols) the Volunteers are hoping to land. Bates named Tennessee as his leader on April 12.
The Vols have already vaulted to the top of the 2014 recruiting rankings. After Joe Henderson’s commitment yesterday the Vols stand at first in Rival’s rankings and second in 247Sport’s rankings. If Bates were to commit that would further solidify Tennessee’s position at the top of the board.
33 recruiting analysts have made their predictions for the 6’3″ Florida native. All 33 predictions have Bates committing to the Vols.
We can’t envision a situation in which Bates chooses a school other than Tennessee.
Of course anything is possible, but Bates should be considered a pretty safe bet to be in Knoxville a year from now.
With that being said we predict that Dillon Bates will be committing to the Tennessee Volunteers in early July.
