Another day, another batch of encouraging news for Vol fans.
This time around it concerns two of the Vols 2014 commits — Jalen Hurd and Joe Henderson.
Both players took part in the Nike Football Training Camp stop in Columbus, OH this past weekend.
Henderson, a four-star defensive lineman, won DL MVP honors over top defensive end prospect in the nation, Da’Shawn Hand, a five-star that is considering Virginia Tech and Michigan, among others.
Henderson’s performance was described as “impressive” by several analysts and reporters on hand for the event.
The talk of the day, however, was five-star (247Sports) running back Jalen Hurd.
Joseph Birmingham of ElevenWarriors.com described Hurd as “uncoverable in one-on-one drills against linebackers.
"He was uncoverable in one-on-one drills, against linebackers, and in most cases he didn’t even attempt to juke them, instead deciding to just run them over before continuing on his route……..He was able to dart and dash around and between anyone who attempted to stop him."
Hurd came away with RB MVP honors and also received his golden ticket to The Opening, which will be held in early July.
Vol fans have to be excited at the thought of Henderson and Hurd suiting up in the orange and white in 2014.
