"The Lady Vols are headed back to the WCWS Championship Series. They will face No. 1 seed Oklahoma Monday evening.Tennessee defeated Texas Sunday evening 2-1 to lock their spot in the series.UT took the lead in the top of he first with a solo home run by Lauren Gibson. The score remained that way until the top of the 6th when Lexi Overstreet drew the bases loaded walk to put Tennessee up 2-0.Texas tried to rally in the bottom of the 7th. Lindsey Stephen hit her first career home run to cut the lead to half. But it wasn’t enough, and the Lady Vols remain undefeated in the World Series this year."

"It remains to be seen if any team can give Oklahoma a scare in this Women’s College World Series.Tennessee will be the last team to have that opportunity, and it has two arms to throw against what might prove to be the greatest college softball lineup ever put together. And while that doesn’t guarantee any wins in the championship round of the World Series, it’s undeniably more difficult to lose if the other team doesn’t score."

"A Tennessee fan in his 20s recently raised a question about his program’s 1998 national championship in football. He wondered if it might have come with strings attached.“It’s as though we made a deal with the devil and we’ve been paying for it ever since,” he said. “I’d just like to see us be good in one men’s sport again.“Even if it’s track.”I didn’t dash his hopes by mentioning that the UT men’s team had just finished tied for 11th in the SEC track and field championships."
From Bleacher Report
"With a new head coach in place, the Tennessee Volunteers won’t really know what kind of trajectory they’re currently on until the 2015 season. At this point, all the freshmen, sophomores and juniors will have been recruited and developed under Butch Jones. From this group, who could the starters be?"
