On Monday, former Tennessee Volunteer offensive lineman Dallas Thomas took part in practice for the first time since being drafted by the Miami Dolphins.
Thomas, who sustained a shoulder injury at the Senior Bowl in January, has been unable to participate in football activities since having his shoulder surgically repaired.
The third round draft pick of the Dolphins was excited to be on the field finally. Thomas said he was happy when he got the clearance to practice, saying he called his mom and told her he was finally going to be able to “do a little moving around” on the field.
Thomas said the team hasn’t really gave him an indication of where they want him to play, although according to the Twitter account of South Florida Sun-Sentinel beat writer Omar Kelly, the Dolphins worked Thomas some at offensive tackle on Monday.
When Thomas was asked by reporters if he had a preference he said:
"Nah, I just want to play ball, wherever they put me at, I’m happy."
A perfect answer for the rookie offensive lineman, one that will no doubt make the coaches happy.
Overall, Thomas seems to have a great attitude, he always appears upbeat and positive.
Attributes that will certainly help him excel in the NFL, even if he’s still not quite sure what position he’ll be playing.
