"University of Tennessee football coach Butch Jones spoke to a packed crowd of about 700 people at Bradley Central High School on Friday. Throughout the speech Jones stressed that Tennessee was on a path to becoming a “championship” football team and that they would be “relentless” in their pursuit to win a NCAA title."

From Times News

"The introduction said it all.“About four days from now there’s going to be another coach from south of here visiting Athens, Tennessee.”Unprompted, a full auditorium at Bradley Central High School booed in unison.“Now welcome your coach, Lyle Allen “Butch” Jones Jr.”"

From Go Vols Xtra

"fter 11 hours of the Major League Baseball draft, there have been 316 players selected in two days. Just not that many with ties to East Tennessee. The Chicago Cubs selected Tennessee senior right-hander Zack Godley in the 10th round Friday. The Kansas City Royals chose former Tennessee and Walters State player Cody Stubbs in the eighth round. Stubbs is now a first baseman at North Carolina."

From NBC Sports

"The Titans have been practicing without wide receiver Justin Hunter for the last few days because of a hamstring injury suffered late in May.Since it is June, coach Mike Munchak and offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains are each taking the position that the second-round pick should focus on mental reps and the playbook while making sure he’s 100 percent physically before getting back on the field. Hunter’s position coach has a pretty different take on things, however. Shawn Jefferson thinks it’s just a matter of Hunter being a little tougher."
