Jabo Lee, an all purpose back that flipped from East Carolina to the Vols just before signing day, is now unlikely to qualify academically according to Evan Woodberry.

"Long considered an academic risk, Lee is unlikely to qualify academically. The Vols are expected to place him in a junior college with the option of recruiting him again two years down the road."

Lee is a three-star back from Dillon, South Carolina (Dillon) that was rated as the ninth best player in the state of South Carolina for the 2013 recruiting class.

He’s a smaller back (the kind that Butch Jones appears to favor) that is fast out of the backfield. The Vols offered him just before signing day, he then decommitted from East Carolina and signed with Tennessee two days later.

If Jabo Lee never sets foot on campus in Knoxville, it won’t be a big loss for the Vols. He most likely would not have contributed in 2013 with Marlin Lane, Rajion Neal and Alden Hill on the roster.

With Lane and Hill coming back in 2014, and Jalen Hurd and Treyvon Paulk on the horizon, his outlook for 2014 wouldn’t have been very promising either.

The running back situation is in good shape for the Vols, and this shouldn’t affect that in any way.
