The Tennessee Volunteers added a second commitment to their 2014 class on Tuesday, when Philip Cofer committed to play for the Vols, via Twitter.

Cofer is a 6’8″/205 lb power forward from Fayetteville, GA (Whitewater), that 247Sports rates as a three-star recruit.

The Vols newest commit holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Miami, among others.

The commitment is no surprise. Jordan Cornish, the Vols other 2014 commit, had been hinting around that a commitment would be coming soon.

Cornish has been extremely upbeat about Tennessee basketball since committing. He recently called himself the Vic Wharton of basketball.

Apparently it’s true, because he definitely the job done with Cofer, just as Wharton has with so many football recruits.

It looks like the excitement from the football program just might be bleeding over to Cuonzo Martin and the basketball team.
