It should come as no surprise to Vol fans, but Zach Rogers is quietly making a name for him self with the Jets.
Rogers received praise early on from Jets head coach Rex Ryan during rookie minicamps.
According to Chris Lopresti, who covers the Jets for WFAN, Rogers is continuing to impress during the Jets’ recent minicamps.
In fact Lopresti said Rogers has been one of the ONLY receivers to stand out so far for the Jets.
During a time when several Jets receivers have been called out for their issues catching the ball, Rogers has stood out…in a good way.
As we said, that shouldn’t come as any surprise to Vol fans, who watched Rogers (although overshadowed by Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter) develop into a very reliable receiving option for Tyler Bray the last couple of seasons.
Even NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock took notice of Zach Rogers. During the Vols pro-day in March. Mayock said he viewed Rogers as a potential mid-round draft pick.
Just because Rogers went undrafted, doesn’t mean the future is dim for the former Volunteer receiver. He’s a savvy route runner and extremely reliable at catching the ball.
If he keeps this up, it won’t be long before he wins the favor of the coaches and ends up moving up the depth chart.
