The commitments just keep rolling in for Butch Jones and the Vols.
The latest commitment is from Cecil Cherry, a 2015 linebacker from Frostproof, FL (Frostproof)
Cherry hasn’t yet been rated, but the general consensus is that he’s likely to end up being a rated as a four-star prospect.
The Vol’s newest commit stands 6’0″ and weighs in at 220 lbs. He’s projected to be an inside linebacker, which bodes well for the Vols.
Cherry already has an impressive list of offers, including: Alabama, Auburn, Arizona State, Clemson, Florida, Louisville, Miami and Ohio State, among many others.
To get a recruit of Cherry’s caliber to commit this early just goes to prove that whatever Butch Jones is selling at Tennessee, is working.
Several recruiting analysts were predicting that Cherry would commit to Florida, which makes this commitment even bigger for the Vols.
This commitment may not turn heads as much as a Jalen Hurd or Todd Kelly, but it’s one that Vol fans should be very very excited about. It also gives fans a glimpse of what Butch Jones has in store of the Vols in the upcoming seasons.
