In case you haven’t noticed, it’s June.
Which means we get to talk about things we’d never talk about during the course of a season, such as the type of music that college players and recruits enjoy.
In May we told you about Cordarrelle Patterson’s affinity for Rascal Flatts, a popular country music group.
Todd Kelly JR, a four-star safety that is part of the 2014 Tennessee Volunteers recruiting class, is the latest young player to have a surprise taste in music. Kelly recently tweeted about his love of country music.
I have a thing for country music, it must be the Tennessee blood flowing in me

He followed that up a couple of days later with a tweet that quoted lyrics from the Zac Brown Band song “Jump Right In”.
You can jump right in
— Todd Kelly Jr. (TK) (@ToddKellyJr) June 26, 2013
Let the music pull you in
Jump right in
Oh and lose yourself again
As the Southern wind sings again an island lullaby
It’s rare to see country music be so popular with a younger generation, but like Todd Kelly Jr alluded to — It must be a Tennessee thing.
