Tennessee Volunteers Football: Ranking The Vol Traditions
By Zach Ragan
2. Running Through The T
Running through the T is one of the best college entrances you will see — ever.
The buildup to the forming of the T (which is formed of course by the Pride of the Southland Band) is simply amazing. By the time the band forms the T, the Volunteer faithful are ready to explode. Once the T opens up and the team runs out, it’s pure pandemonium inside Neyland Stadium.
The tradition of running through the T is another great contribution brought to the Volunteers by former coach Doug Dickey. The tradition, like many others, began in the mid 1960’s.
It’s went through a few modifications through the years, such as which side of the field the Vols run towards, but it’s no doubt one of the greatest traditions in all of college football and should be on every college football fan’s “bucket list”.
