The Vols added another brick to their already solid foundation on Sunday, when Eric Lauderdale committed to play for Tennessee.

Lauderdale (Mission Viejo, CA) is a four-star (247Sports) junior college wide receiver. 247Sports rates him as the fourth best juco wide receiver and the 21st overall juco player.

I predicted on June 16, via the 247Sports crystal ball, that the Vols would land Lauderdale. The other five analysts that made predictions also predicted that Tennessee would get a commitment from the California native.

Lauderdale also had offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Miami and Wisconsin among others.

The 6’2″/190 lb receiver is the third wide receiver so far in the 2014 class for the Vols. He joins Vol legacy Neiko Creamer and fellow juco transfer Kameel Jackson. Three-star ATH Brandon Powell, who committed on June 16, could also end up as a wide receiver for the Volunteers.

Lauderdale’s commitment vaulted the Volunteers back into the top five of 247Sports team rankings.
