The stars have finally aligned themselves.

Figuratively of course.

Vols Running back commit Jalen Hurd, who was already rated as a five-star recruit by 247Sports, picked up his fifth star from Rivals today.

Hurd, a native of Hendersonville, TN (Beech), committed to the Volunteers on March 14, instantly becoming the “star” of Butch Jones’ 2014 recruiting class. Hurd possesses the elite size (6’3″/220) to be an extremely successful running back in the SEC.

The talented running back is still rated as a four-star recruit by both ESPN and Scout.

Last season, as a junior, the Beech standout rushed 317 times for 3,357 yards and 43 rushing touchdowns. Those season totals include a game where Hurd rushed for 394 yards and four touchdowns.

You’ll be able to catch Hurd on ESPN 2 this upcoming Sunday (August 25) at 12 pm est, when Beech (TN) takes on Station Camp (TN).
