Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, who has not practiced since late May, will finally be activated from the physically unable to perform (P.U.P.) list, according to Adam Schefter.
It was previously reported that Foster would come of the P.U.P. list in early August, but a last minute set-back prevented that from happening.
Foster was entirely healthy last season, but shouldered most of the load at running back, with backup Ben Tate missing several games last season.
The former Vols’ heavy load in 2012 likely contributed to the Pro-Bowl running back’s struggle with getting healthy this off-season. Foster’s battle with injuries this off-season are remarkably similar to 2011 when he started out battling a mild strain that was expected to only sideline him for a few days. The injury was more serious then initially thought and Foster missed a couple of regular season games.
For that reason, even with Foster being activated off the P.U.P. list, I would still expected head coach Gary Kubiak and the Texans to be extremely cautious with the star running back.
Foster has rushed for more than 1,200 yards in three straight seasons and has been elected to three consecutive Pro-Bowls.
