To say that Butch Jones “gets it” is an understatement at this point.
Jones has not had a single misstep during his eight months as the Volunteers’ head football coach.
Not only has he done everything right, he’s done it all the right way as well.
Jones latest idea, reaching out to former Vols by sending them “VFL kits”, is just another in a long line of examples of just how “Tennessee” the Michigan native has become.
It’s one thing to embrace former players when they’re players that you coached.
But to go and embrace the past the way that Butch has, well that takes things to a whole different level.
Gestures like this are what has former Vols around the country fired up about Tennessee football once again.
