It looks like Vol nation finally has an answer as to who their starting QB will be on August 31 against Austin Peay.
Brett McMurphy of ESPN broke this news, via Twitter, on Sunday afternoon.
We previously predicted that Nathan Peterman would earn the starting job, but it’s definitely no surprise that Worley will be the starter.
In fact most other media outlets were giving Worley the nod as well.
Worley is the only QB on the roster with any game experience at the college level.
Butch Jones was expected to name a starting QB tomorrow, so he should elaborate further on Monday on what makes Worley the man for the job.
Even though Worley is the starter for now, it’s doubtful that he has a strong-hold on the job. Jones is no stranger to making a QB switch in season, as he did in 2012 at Cincinnati.
