"Tennessee’s offensive linemen savor the challenge they’re facing and the attention they’re receiving. The Volunteers return four starters from a line that allowed only eight sacks last season. Because Tennessee lacks star power at the skill positions, offensive tackles Antonio ”Tiny” Richardson and Ja’Wuan James rank alongside linebacker A.J. Johnson as the Volunteers’ most recognizable names.Richardson and James are part of the line that leads an offense without much experience anywhere else. The Vols have a new starting quarterback and must replace first-round draft pickCordarrelle Patterson and second-round selection Justin Hunter in the receiving corps."
From the Tennessean
"Tennessee quarterback Justin Worley wasn’t particularly surprised tolearn he would start Saturday’s season opener against Austin Peay. But he did acknowledge feeling relieved.Worley, the only quarterback on Tennessee’s roster with any college playing experience, learned he had won the starting job Sunday night when coach Butch Jones and offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian met individually with each of the four contenders. Jones formally announced Worley as the starter at his Monday afternoon news conference."

"“You can call it destiny, divine intervention, but we took this championship. We did what we needed to do and we took this championship on the field.”In January 1999, Coach Phillip Fulmer and the 1998 Vols football team made history; the team won the national championship, the first for the Vols since 1951, and completed the school’s first-ever 13-0 season. The 23-16 win over the Florida State Seminoles went down in Tempe, Arizona at the Fiesta Bowl."

"Tennessee forward Jeronne Maymon says he should be at 100% by the start of the season as he recovers from a knee injury that prevented him from playing last year.Maymon said at a Monday news conference that he feels good and that he’s “ready to go” for the Nov. 12 season opener for Xavier. Tennessee is trying to return to the NCAA tournament after back-to-back NIT appearances."
