"Tennessee will retire Candace Parker’s No. 3 jersey before its Jan. 2 game against LSU, one of 11 teams on the Lady Vols’ 2013-14 schedule that reached last season’s NCAA tournament.The Lady Vols Tuesday announced their 2013-14 schedule and the date to honor Parker, now playing with the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks. Tennessee previously said it would retire Parker’s jersey this season, but no date had been set before Tuesday’s announcement.Tennessee’s schedule includes a Nov. 11 trip to North Carolina, a Dec. 21 visit to Stanford and a Jan. 20 home matchup with Notre Dame. Tennessee faces Virginia on Nov. 28 at the Junkaroo Jam in the Bahamas."

"Wide receiver Marquez North and cornerback Cameron Sutton already have won starting spots. Wide receiver Josh Smith is listed as a co-starter alongside redshirt freshman Jason Croom. Offensive guard Dylan Wiesman, cornerback Malik Foreman and nickel back Devaun Swafford are on the second team.None of the six freshmen included in the depth chart were on campus for spring practice. They instead arrived this summer and performed well enough in training camp to show they could contribute immediately. Jones said Monday that he expected to play anywhere from 10 to 16 freshmen against Austin Peay."

"After the Southeastern Conference Office unveiled this year’s league schedule on Tuesday, Tennessee Head Women’s Basketball Coach Holly Warlick announced her team’s 2013-14 slate. UT also revealed it will retire Candace Parker’s jersey on Jan. 2 prior to the LSU game.The defending SEC champion Lady Volunteers, who were 27-8 in 2012-13 and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, will play 18 regular-season games vs. teams that saw postseason action a year ago. That group includes 11 teams that made the NCAA Tournament and five that played in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament."
