The gametime for the South Carolina Gamecocks @ Tennessee Volunteers game on October 19 has been announced as 12 pm est kick-off on ESPN.

The Vols (3-3) are coming off a gut-wrenching overtime loss to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Volunteers are off this Saturday.

South Carolina narrowly defeated Kentucky this past weekend, without their best defensive player Jadeveon Clowney.

The Gamecocks (4-1) will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks this Saturday at 12:21 pm est.

The game against South Carolina (assuming the Gamecocks don’t drop out of the top 25) will give the Vols another chance at beating a ranked opponent.

Tennessee has not beat a ranked opponent since beating #21 South Carolina 31-13 in 2009 at Neyland Stadium. The Vols knocked off Georgia and South Carolina that season, under then head coach Lane Kiffin.

Since then the Vols have come close to beating a ranked team (LSU in 2010, Georgia and South Carolina in 2012), but they’ve been unable to walk away with the win.

The Gamecocks are currently ranked #14 in the AP poll.
