Tennessee picked up their 25th commitment (for the second time) on Tuesday when offensive lineman Dontavius Blair committed to play for the Vols.
Blair, a 6’8″/306 pound tackle from Anniston, AL (Anniston), is rated by 247Sports as the ninth best junior college player in the nation.
The majority of 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions had Blair committing to Auburn. 26% of the predictions (including my own) had Blair committing to Tennessee.
32% of the predictions made for Blair were for Texas A&m.
Blair has a very very impressive list of offers, including: Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma and Ohio State among many many more.
The Alabama native will almost certainly be a starter from day one for the Vols. Tennessee is going to lose almost their entire offensive line after this season, so they’ll need all the help they can get. Blair, being a juco transfer, is a huge pickup for the Vols. He only further bolsters an already strong 2014 recruiting class for Butch Jones and the Volunteers.
