9. First Road Win

It’s not the most impressive road win, but hey you have to start somewhere, right?

The Vols had a historically tough schedule. They played five road games this past season and four of those games were against ranked opponents.

After the Vols lost to Vanderbilt — ending their bowl hopes — it turned Kentucky into an absolute must-win game in order to avoid a complete meltdown in Knoxville.

Jones was able to keep his players motivated, even after it seemed like they were “playing for nothing”.

It’s far from the best moment of the season for Butch Jones, but it was indeed an important one, no matter how small of a win it appeared to be.
