Tennessee Volunteers guard Jordan McRae was named the SEC player of the week on Monday for the second time this season.

McRae had a fantastic week, scoring 21 points against Virginia and 19 points against Tusculum. The 6’6″ guard also only committed one turnover during the Vols’ two wins last week.

The Georgia native has been by far the Vols’ biggest weapon so far this season. He’s averaging 18.9 points a contest, while shooting 45% from the field.

McRae previously was named SEC player of the week for the week ending November 25.

The Vols will need McRae to be at the top of his game, as the team enters conference play this week.

Tennessee’s first SEC test will be on Tuesday night when they travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU. The Vols return home next Saturday night to take on Texas A&M.
