Utah State finished the season as a nine-win team, with a huge win over Northern Illinois in the Poinsettia Bowl.
Northern Illinois came into the Poinsettia Bowl ranked as the #24 team in the nation.
Utah State used a stifling defense to shut down Northern Illinois’ impressive rushing game and hold star quarterback Jordan Lynch to only 39 rushing yards.
The Vols will likely have a tough time running the ball on Utah State, but it’s still a game they should be able to win at Neyland Stadium on opening day next season.
