Steve Spurrier proved he was king of the Citrus Bowl — at least in 2014 — when the Gamecocks beat Wisconsin 34-24 on New Year’s Day.

Had it not been for South Carolina’s loss to Tennessee in October, then the Gamecocks would’ve had a place in the SEC championship game and a shot at Auburn.

South Carolina will be looking for revenge against the Vols in Columbia in 2014. It’ll be yet another huge road game for the Vols.

Tennessee likely won’t be given a chance in this game by critics, until they prove they’re capable of winning on the road.

Of course, South Carolina will be without quarterback Connor Shaw and star defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, so the Vols might have a better chance than most folks think.
