The Tennessee Volunteers made sure the next to last Monday before National Signing Day was a big one, locking down two commits.

Long snapper Wesley Horky committed to Tennessee on Monday evening.

Earlier in the day four-star running back Derrell Scott committed to the Vols.

Horky is a 6’2″/190 lb in-state recruit from Brentwood, TN. The specialist is rated by 247Sports as a two-star prospect. Horky won’t be a scholarship player. His only scholarship offer came from Murray State, which isn’t unusual for a long snapper.

247Sports’ composite rankings have Horky as the top long snapper in the nation.

It may not be a glamorous position, but it is an extremely important one.

Butch Jones places a special emphasis on special teams (as anyone who’s ever attended a Tennessee practice can attest) and he’s added two top specialists this year in place kicker Aaron Medley and long snapper Wesley Horky.
