The Tennessee Volunteers added three-star safety Stephen Griffin to their 2015 recruiting class on Thursday, according to multiple reports.

Griffin is a 6’3″/187 lb safety from Charlotte, NC (South Mecklenburg). He’s rated as the 29th best player in the state of North Carolina and the 66th best safety in the nation.

It’s no secret that Butch Jones loves tall defensive backs and Griffin certainly fits that bill. He was offered by the Vols on January 26 and attended Tennessee’s junior day on February 15.

The North Carolina native holds offers from Boston College, Clemson, Duke and Georgia Tech, among others.
