Jauan Jennings, a four-star athlete from Murfreesboro, TN (Blackman), will announce his college decision on April 7.

The Vols, as seen in the tweet above, are one of Jennings’ finalists.

Jennings is listed as an athlete by most recruiting services. He would prefer to play quarterback, but he might be better suited as a safety.

Alabama likely isn’t recruiting Jennings as a quarterback, as he’s being recruited by linebackers coach Kevin Steele, according to 247Sports. The Crimson Tide probably view Jennings as a safety.

If Jennings is dead-set on playing quarterback, then Auburn might be his ideal landing spot. Especially considering the success of defensive back-turned-quarterback Nick Marshall.

Tennessee, considering their current quarterback situation, would probably give Jennings a look at quarterback with the understanding that he might end up on the defensive side of the ball.

Landing a quarterback is obviously essential to the Vols’ 2015 recruiting class. Jennings isn’t the sure thing the Vols need, but his athleticism and versatility would still be a big asset to Tennessee.

This one is too close to call and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jennings commit to Alabama or Auburn on April 7.
