The Tennessee Volunteers announced on Thursday that guard Quinton Chievous is leaving the program.
Chievous is a redshirt sophomore from Chicago, IL. He played in only nine games this past season, averaging 0.4 points a game. Chievous played a bit more as a redshirt freshman, appearing in 22 games and averaging a little more than 10 minutes of playing time per game.
The departure of Chievous means there will be one available scholarship for the Vols next season. That number will be two if Jarnell Stokes ends up going pro and skipping his senior season.
Stokes is waiting to make his decision, but I’d be surprised if he didn’t leave for the NBA.
