The Tennessee Volunteers are no stranger to the Charlotte, NC area.

The Vols already have Charlotte native Marquez North on the roster as well as Riley Ferguson from nearby Matthews.

On Saturday afternoon they added another player from the Charlotte area.

Three-star running back Rocky Reid from Concord, NC committed to Tennessee after the Vols’ spring game.

Reid is a 6’0β€³/220 lb running back that 247Sports rates as the 30th best player in the state of North Carolina.

Reid’s commitment will give the Vols even more depth at running back. That’s something they’ll need with senior Marlin Lane moving on after 2014.
