Each of the nine assistant football coaches at Tennessee have received a one-year contract extension, according a report from Evan Woodbery of the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Woodbery also reported that linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen received a $25,000 raise, making him the fourth highest paid UT coach.
There’s no question that Tennessee had to give Thigpen a raise. He’s easily the best recruiter on the staff and somebody the Vols can’t fool around with and risk losing.
Thigpen’s last reported salary at Auburn, his previous coaching stop, was $320,000.
Here are the salaries for Tennessee’s assistant coaches, as reported by Woodbery.
Offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian: $487,200
Defensive coordinator John Jancek: $487,200
Defensive line coach, assistant head coach Steve Stripling: $392,200
Linebackers Coach Tommy Thigpen: $382,200
Secondary coach, assistant head coach for defense Willie Martinez: $362,200
Offensive line coach Don Mahoney: $362,200
Receivers coach Zach Azzanni: $312,200
Running backs coach Robert Gillespie: $312,200
Tight ends coach, special teams coordinator Mark Elder: $232,200
