Five-star offensive tackle Chuma Edoga announced his commitment to USC on Monday evening.

Edoga is a 6’4″/276 OL from Powder Springs, GA (McEachern).

247Sports’ composite rankings have him as the 27th best 2015 player in the nation.

At one time he named the Vols his leaders, but ultimately the desire to head out west swayed Edoga to Southern Cal.

I wouldn’t completely count Tennessee, or any of his other top schools, out for Edoga. There’s a long way to go until National Signing Day 2015.

Regardless, it’s huge for the Vols to just be in the mix.

It wasn’t that long ago that Tennessee would’ve just been an afterthought for a player like Edoga.

The Vols’ 2015 recruiting class is currently ranked fifth in the nation according to 247Sports.
