Malik Henry, the top 2016 dual threat quarterback in the nation, received an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on Wednesday.

The offer is his first from an SEC school.

Henry, a five-star quarterback from Thousand Oaks, CA (Westlake), is rated as the 13th best player in the nation, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The highly touted recruit currently holds offers from Arizona State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, UAB, UCLA and USC, in addition to his offer from the Vols.

How much of a chance the Vols have to land Henry probably depends on where 2015 five-star quarterback Torrance Gibson decides to commit.

If Tennessee ends up getting a commitment from Gibson, who is also a dual-threat quarterback, then I wouldn’t expect them to stand much of a chance with Henry.
