The Tennessee Volunteers will open as a 6.5 favorite over the Utah State Aggies in the season opener on August 31.
This is according to off-shore betting site 5Dimes.eu.
It was rumored earlier this year that Tennessee could be a possible underdog at home against the Aggies.
That doesn’t appear to be the case, but taking the points in this one will be a popular play.
Utah State is coming off a 9-5 season in which they nearly beat USC. They finished the season with a 21-14 win against #24 Northern Illinois in the Poinsettia Bowl.
The Aggies will return their stud quarterback Chuckie Keeton.
Keeton played in only six games last season before an season ending knee injury, but he was having himself quite a season up to that point.
Bleacher Report has Keeton on their early Heisman watch list.
This is a game that Tennessee should win, but it’s far from a sure thing.
The point spread will likely change between now an August, but right now it’s sitting about where it should be.
