Donnie Tyndall, doing his best Butch Jones impression, picked up another 2014 basketball commitment on Monday afternoon.

Florida Gulf Coast forward Eric McKnight, who has one year of eligibility remaining, will transfer to Tennessee and be eligible to play immediately, according to multiple reports.

McKnight, 6’9″/210 lbs, started his career at Iowa State before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast after his freshman season.

During McKnight’s two seasons at Florida Gulf Coast he averaged 6.7 points per game. The native of Raleigh, NC started 21 games last season for the Eagles. His best performance of the season came in a win against Jacksonville in which he was 11-for-11 from the field, scoring a career high 22 points.

In addition to being an inside scoring presence for the Vols, McKnight will also bring an imposing defensive presence to the court. McKnight blocked 47 shots in 34 games as a redshirt sophomore and 25 shots in 23 games as a redshirt junior.

Here’s a small taste of what to expect this upcoming season on Rocky Top.
