Willie Carmichael, a 6’7″/195 lb three-star power forward from Apopka, FL (Wekiva), committed to play basketball at Tennessee on Tuesday evening.
Carmichael, who previously committed to Donnie Tyndall at Southern Mississippi, is the third player that Tennessee added on Tuesday, joining Ian Chiles and Devon Baulkman.
The three-star forward chose Tennessee over Alabama, Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast.
Here’s a clip of Carmichael tipping in a game winning shot for his high school.
That clip doesn’t really tell us much about Carmichael as a player, but it is pretty clear that he is definitely an impressive athlete.
The Vols now have a much better outlook than they did a month ago when they were trying to figure out how to replace Jordan McRae and Jarnell Stokes. They still haven’t replaced those guys, but they are definitely an improved team.
