Tennessee Football Recruiting: Demetris Robertson Offered By Vols
By Zach Ragan
Highly touted 2016 five-star athlete Demetris Robertson picked up an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on Thursday evening.
Robertson is a native of Savannah, GA (Savannah Country Day School). He is 6’1″/165 lbs and is rated by 247Sports as the 6th best player in the state of Georgia and the top athlete in the nation.
The versatile wide receiver/safety has offers from the all of the top schools in the nation, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Texas A&M and several others.
It’s pretty obvious from Robertson’s highlights that his reputation as the top athlete in the country is more than warranted.
Robertson displays a natural play-making ability reminiscent of former Volunteer wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. When the ball is in his hands, he just makes things happen.
Landing Robertson will be no easy feat for Butch Jones and the Vols. He’s garnering a ton of attention (as he should) from schools like Alabama and UCLA.
I don’t think being from the southeast will have much of an impact on Robertson’s recruiting. He can go pretty much anywhere he wants to and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him commit to a school out west, or stay home. It all depends on what ends up being the best fit.
