Tennessee Football: Wide Receiver Keith Gavin Offered By Vols

Butch Jones and the Tennessee staff are determined to continue the tradition of “Wide Receiver U”.

They’ve shown that by their relentless approach to recruiting the position.

The Vols have already brought in the two of the nation’s top 2014 wide receivers in Von Pearson and Josh Malone. They also have a commitment from one of the top 2015 wide receivers in the nation — Preston Williams.

So it’s time to start on 2016, right?

Right.

The Vols offered four-star wider receiver Keith Gavin on Wednesday.

Gavin is a 6’3″/211 lb receiver from Crawfordville, FL (Wakulla). 247Sports rates him as the 35th best 2016 wide receiver in the nation.

Gavin is clearly very, very athletic. He goes up and gets the ball as a wide receiver (he has an impressive leaping ability) and he’s also a hard hitting safety.

So far he has notable offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Miami, among others.

As with most players from Florida, it’s going to be hard to pull Gavin from the sunshine state. That’s especially true with the recent success of Florida State.

But, as we always say, recruiting is far from predictable. For that reason you can never count the Vols out.
