Tennessee Football: Quarterback Shea Patterson Offered By Vols
By Zach Ragan
It’s been another busy week for the Tennessee football coaches in the recruiting world.
On Thursday, the Vols offered 2016 four-star quarterback Shea Patterson.
Patterson is a 6’1″/180 lb pro-style quarterback from Shreveport, LA (Calvary Baptist Academy). He’s rated by 247Sports as the fourth best player in Louisiana and the second best 2016 pro-style quarterback in the nation. He is currently committed to Arizona.
Judging simply by Paterson’s highlights, it doesn’t look like he has the strongest arm in the world, but he does look to have decent accuracy. He also has better than average speed, although his footwork leaves a little to be desired (though that can be said of most young quarterbacks).
Overall I think Patterson is a good prospect, but he’s far from the top of Tennessee’s list of desired quarterbacks.
Patterson currently has notable offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech, among others.
I’d be surprised to see Patterson stick with Arizona, considering some of the offers he has.
LSU would seem like a likely destination for the Louisiana native, but Patterson has yet to earn an offer from the Tigers.
