Tennessee Football: Darrion Daniels Offered By Vols

Darrion Daniels, a four-star 2015 defensive tackle from Dallas, TX (Bishop Dunne Catholic), was offered by the Vols on Wednesday according to Brian Perroni of 247Sports.

Daniels is rated as the 21st best defensive tackle in the country and the 38th best player in Texas in 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Daniels, 6’3″/290 lbs, is a run stuffing defensive tackle that would provide Tennessee with much needed depth along their defensive line.

The Vols, according to Butch Jones, are “years away”. So while Daniels wouldn’t provide Tennessee with immediate help in 2015, he is the type of player that could be a key piece for the Vols as they hope to compete for the SEC in 2016 and beyond.

Daniels currently has notable offers from Baylor, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and Oregon, among many others.
