Tennessee Football: Vols Offer Five-Star Safety
By Zach Ragan
2016 five-star safety Brandon Jones was offered by the Tennessee Volunteers on Friday evening.
Jones, a 5’11″/183 lb defensive back from Nacogdoches, TX (Nacogdoches), is rated by 247Sports as the seventh best player in the state of Texas and the third best safety in the nation.
Jones, as you can imagine for a five-star safety, has an impressive offer list. Some of his notable offers include Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas A&M, among several others
All ten 247Sports crystal ball predictions have Jones committing to Texas A&M.
It’s highly unlikely that Tennessee would be able to pull a five-star recruit out of the state of Texas, but Butch Jones is not the type of man to back down from a challenge.
Brandon Jones would obviously be a huge pickup for the Vols. He possesses exactly the type of speed/quickness combination that Tennessee has been lacking in recent years.
Again, I think it’s highly unlikely that UT lands Jones, but as we always say, you just never know when it comes to college football recruiting.
