Vols Recruiting: Torrance Gibson Names Top 7

The Tennessee Volunteers’ top 2015 target, five-star quarterback Torrance Gibson, released his top seven schools on Thursday evening.

Gibson, who is rated by 247Sports as the top athlete in the nation, previously named Tennessee his leader on May 5. The Vols still find themselves at the top of Gibson’s list, but they are joined by the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn has long been considered Tennessee’s main competition for Gibson.

The Fort Lauderdale native also previously said there was a “85% chance” that he would leave the state of Florida to attended college.

Miami and UCF, despite that claim, are also in Gibson’s top seven schools.

It really appears that Tennessee and Auburn are way out in front for Gibson, but that could chance a moment’s notice.

If the Vols are able to land Gibson it would be a huge victory for Tennessee — at least in the recruiting world.

Gibson is a rare talent. There’s no debating that. However, he’s yet to play a snap at the next level, so regardless of where he commits, fans should temper their expectations.
