A.D. Miller, a 2015 three-star wide receiver from Dallas, TX (Bishop Dunne Catholic), was offered by the Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday.
Miller, 6’4″/175 lbs, is rated by 247Sports as the 121st best player in the state of Texas and the 120th best wide receiver in the nation.
Don’t let the three-star rating bother you too much. Butch Jones and his Tennessee coaching staff have said before that they don’t pay much attention to recruiting ratings. They offer players based solely on their own observations. They obviously see something in Miller, who (at 6’4″) looks like a prototypical “Tennessee” wide receiver.
Miller has notable offers from California, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and Washington. among several others.
That’s a pretty impressive offer list for a three-star wide receiver. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him moved up to a four-star rating before National Signing Day 2015.
It’s a bit surprising that none of the major schools in Texas have offered Miller, but that will (and should) change during his upcoming senior season.
