Amonte Caban, a 2015 four-star linebacker from Smiths Station, AL (Smiths Station Sch), was offered by the Tennessee Volunteers on Thursday.
Caban is rated by 247Sports as the fifth best player in the state of Alabama and sixth best inside-linebacker in the nation.
The Alabama native has notable offers from Clemson, Kentucky, Mississippi State and South Carolina, among others.
Caban has yet to receiver an offer from the Crimson Tide, even though he is being recruited (according to 247Sports) by Kirby Smart and former Vol assistant Kevin Steele.
I think it’s safe to assume that an offer from Alabama will eventually come for Caban, at which point it will be very difficult for any school to beat out Nick Saban and the Bama staff for a homegrown talent.
Even if Alabama does offer Caban, the Vols will do everything they can to land the 6’2″/210 lb linebacker.
