Vols Recruiting: Tennessee Makes Cameron Ordway’s Top Ten
By Zach Ragan
Four-star 2015 defensive back Cameron Ordway released his top ten schools on Monday evening and the Tennessee Volunteers made the cut.
Ordway, who is from Pulaski, TN (Giles County), is rated by 247Sports as the 11th best player in the state of Tennessee and the 31st best cornerback in the nation.
Ordway’s top ten essentially reads like a who’s who of college football programs. It’s clear that Tennessee won’t be able to rely on being Ordway’s home state in his recruitment.
The Vols need to go the extra mile to land Ordway. Butch Jones has lived up to his promise to own the state of Tennessee and even though you can’t land them all, it’s still important to do everything you can to land the big ones.
The 6’0″/174 lb recruit has the potential to be one of the big ones in the 2015 recruiting class. The Vols definitely don’t want to see him end up at a rival school like Alabama, LSU or Ole Miss.
It’s worth noting that by the looks of Ordway’s Twitter account he has built a relationship with Vol target Torrance Gibson. That might end up as a non-factor in Ordway and Gibson’s recruitment, but it’s worth noting anyway.
