1. Micah Abernathy
The highest rated of these secondary players is 4-star Micah Abernathy of Norcross, Georgia. Abernathy’s size is his greatest asset, measuring in at 6-1, 185 lb. The trend in college football is to nab big bodies at corner, and Abernathy certainly fits that profile.
Abernathy could play either safety or corner (as he is new to the corner position), but he certainly has the athleticism to play anywhere in the secondary. 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 181 player in the country according to their composite rankings, and he’s one of the best players in the talent-rich state of Georgia.
As of now, Abernathy is projected to play for the Georgia Bulldogs in college, but Tennessee and Alabama are pushing hard for him. It still looks like the battle will come down to Georgia and Alabama, however.
